Jean-Pierre Jeunet, director of the two of the most wonderful Audrey movies ever, “Amélie” and “A Very Long Engagement” will do a new movie that is set for release in 2009. It is called “Micmacs à tire-larigot” and will be a satirical comedy that tells a story about illegal gun trade.
Jamel Debbouze (Lucien in “Amélie”) and Dominique Pinon (Joseph in “Amélie” and Sylvain in “A Very Long Engagement”) are already set to star in the movie. There are rumors that Jodie Foster (Elodie Gordes in “A Very Long Engagement”) and Audrey (!) might also appear in the movie. However, nothing is confirmed yet, but stay tuned!
In other news, Audrey has been nominated for a Prix Raimu de la Comédie for Best Actress, however she lost to Charlotte Gainsbourg. At least, “Ensemble, c’est tout won the award for Best Movie :) The award ceremony took place on December 17 in Paris.
Thanks so much Cassie for the heads-up!
