Hello everyone! I’m very sorry for the lack of updates, but life is keeping me very busy ;) Anyways, I decided to put the site on a little semi-hiatus, which doesn’t mean though that there won’t be any updates. I will try to update here and then, but not that regularly. Besides, I am trying to get hold of the spam that’s recently been flooding the gallery, it’s crazy! Anyway, stay tuned! :)

Bad news, dear Audrey fans: it looks like we won’t be seeing Audrey as Coco Chanel before spring 2009! As Variety reported the production enterprises are now eyeing spring 2009 to release the movie. What a pity! Hopefully Audrey will sign on another project maybe…? Otherwise we won’t see her in another movie for over a year.Here the excerpt:

Backers of “Coco Before Chanel,” the Anne Fontaine-helmed pic to star Audrey Tautou, were at AFM touting early buyer interest in their script. But the $15 million film, being produced by French shingles Haut et Court and Cine @ and distribbed by Films Distribution, isn’t ready to lense yet either, It’s now aiming for a fall 2008 shoot and a spring 2009 release.

I know it’s belated and only short, but I didn’t have internet access for the last few days since I was away on a excursion. But anyway, let’s wish Audrey a (belated) HAPPY BIRTHDAY and BON ANNIVERSAIRE for her 29th birthday :)

It looks like Audrey is currently enjoying herself vacationing in Sydney, Australia. Thanks to Catherine I learned that Audrey visited her designer friend Laurence Pasquier on July 4 in order to promote her new fall/winter collection.

Oh, and there has been a change with POTM – I decided to change the voting time from monthly to quarterly. The reasons are simple: a) I am very very busy at the moment and b) I am going to run out of pictures otherwise ;) – nevertheless, enjoy this month’s POTM pictures and don’t forget to vote for the fall picture!

This is the most exciting news of the week! According to Variety, Audrey is going to portray the goddess of all fashion, Coco Chanel, in an yet untitled biopic! Here’s what Variety says:

Audrey Tautou will star as Coco Chanel in a $15 million biopic about the legendary French fashion designer. Anne Fontaine will helm the yet to be titled pic, with French shingles Haut et Court and Cine @ producing. Films Distribution is handling international sales.

The film, which will focus on Chanel’s childhood and early womanhood, was specially conceived with Tautou in mind, said Haut et Court’s Caroline Benjo.

“Anne said she would only make a film about Chanel if Audrey was in the lead. They met and both liked the idea.”

Script, penned by Fontaine and Christopher Hampton, who is also creative consultant, was freely adapted from the Chanel biography “L’Irrégulière” by Edmonde Charles-Roux.

Pic is slated to shoot early in 2008.

A French thesp will play Etienne Balsan and an A-list Brit actor is being sought to play Englishman Arthur “Boy” Capel, two men in Chanel’s life when she was still a young unknown.

Said Benjo: “It isn’t really a biopic because it is about Chanel before she became famous, it is about the events and people that shaped her.”

Again there is some gossip on Audrey’s private life: the French tabloid Voici has published an article and some photos in their latest issue that assumes that Audrey has a new boyfriend, the French singer Mathieu Chedid. Back in June, the tabloid had reported that Audrey had spent her vacation on Corsica together with a man named Jean-Paul.
